By demonstrating integrity and complying with the CCCC Standards of Accountability, Chalice has earned the right to display the Seal of Accountability.
Chalice’s mission is to bring Christ to the poor and the poor to Christ. Chalice primarily supports community initiatives in 15 countries through the sponsorship of children and elderly in need.
Family Funding Model
Chalice recognizes that when given the support and encouragement, caregivers will make good decisions that benefit their family. Chalice uses a family funding model to dispense sponsorship funds. Each parent or guardian opens a bank account and receives training in basic financial literacy to help them manage their child’s sponsorship funds. It is mandatory for parents to join a family group which helps members manage their funds.
People Accepted Based on Need
Chalice works closely with lay people, religious missionaries, and local communities in their efforts to provide care for the many children and elderly caught in the dehumanizing grip of extreme poverty and lack of education. Those accepted into the sponsorship program are received based on need with no regard for gender, race or religious affiliation.
Local Direction
Every Sponsor Site that Chalice assists is under local direction. Chalice believes that those who live and experience the difficulties of poverty in developing countries are also those most knowledgeable and capable of responding to its effects.
Emphasis on Education
Chalice places special emphasis on helping to provide children with the chance to go to school and learn. They believe that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty.
Chalice’s core values are faith, integrity, commitment, compassion, and respect.
