This is not your typical HR role!  We are seeking an experienced HR professional with a CHRL or CPHR designation and a deep curiosity for the broader operational issues faced by Christian Charities in Canada today.

Do you have a passion for the mission that Christ gave His Church and a desire to use your HR skillset and knowledge of Christian charities to further that mission? Does the idea of creating HR content, programs and services that could potentially benefit thousands of Christian charities excite you? If so, you may be the candidate we are seeking!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO IN THIS ROLE:
Manage and grow CCCC’s HR Program by providing fee for service consulting to member charities and collaborating with colleagues to promote the growth of the program.  Manages CCCC’s online job board (i.e., ChristianCharityJobs.ca) and leads CCCC’s HR Roundtable discussions to promote sharing of HR best practices and member networking.

Research and create technical content such as articles, templates for CCCC Bulletin, conference workshops, regional seminars and websites.  Authors online courses for CCCC’s Training Centre.  Represents CCCC as a speaker at conferences.

Support CCCC members by answering questions on a wide variety of legal, finance, tax, human resource and operational topics applicable to charities.  Collaborates with colleagues on recommendations for CCCC’s response on technical issues.

Group Health Insurance backup when the Manager, Finance is out of office.

Manage CCCC’s corporate HR function by providing HR leadership and expertise in the areas of HR strategy development, talent acquisition, policy development and learning and development.  Acts as the management representative for CCCC’s Joint Health & Safety Committee and participates on CCCC’s Social Committee.

Consulting skills
Your strong consulting skills allow you to effectively set and manage client expectations from the entry/contracting phase of the consulting relationship through to the evaluation/termination phase.

Knowledgeable about charity issues
You have a working knowledge of the Income Tax Act (charity), charity governance issues, Christian stewardship and trust law.  You don’t need to be an expert in all of these areas as CCCC will provide training however a can-do attitude and confidence in your ability to learn and grow are essential to success in this role.

An excellent communicator
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and would be comfortable writing content for CCCC’s knowledge bank and representing CCCC as a speaker at conferences and webinars.

Service-oriented
You have a heart for serving others and would enjoy providing excellent service to CCCC’s valued members.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years progressive HR generalist experience.
  • Previous experience (paid or volunteer) in Christian ministry.
