CCCC is pleased to announce that Barry W. Bussey will be joining our staff as Vice-President Legal Affairs beginning July, 2011.
Barry is a native of St. John’s, Newfoundland. He studied Theology at Canadian University College in Lacombe, Alberta as well as law at the University of Western Ontario. Barry also holds a Masters degree in Political Science from Memorial University in Newfoundland and a Master of Laws Degree in constitutional Law from Osgoode Hall Law School (York University). He is currently completing a Doctor of Laws degree from York University.
Barry has served as a pastor as well as General Counsel for the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Canada. Most recently, he served as Director of United Nations Liaison for the Church in New York and Geneva.
He brings a tremendous wealth of experience to his new role having served on various boards including the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.
In his new role, Barry will be leading the CCCC legal staff as they research and recommend positions on legal and technical matters in order to provide information and resources for CCCC members.
He will also be working to increase the Canadian public’s awareness and understanding of Christianity and of the environment in which Christian charities operate by conducting research and other activities to influence a more positive Canadian legal environment.
