Microsoft has expanded their eligibility requirements for their popular software donations program. Faith-based or religious organizations and hospice societies are now eligible to participate. Available software donations and programs include:

Microsoft Office

Windows operating systems

Windows server software

Office 365 for Nonprofits

Faith-based or religious organizations include:

religious groups and places of worship, such as churches, synagogues, mosques and temples

religious orders

missionaries

faith-based children’s camps

faith-informed women’s health care centres

other religious charities and nonprofits

Hospice societies must be separate from a hospital to be eligible. Educational institutions that provide accredited diplomas (such as religious private schools and separate schools) remain ineligible for Microsoft’s donations program; instead, please visit Microsoft’s Programs for Education.

Additional terms and conditions may apply. Please refer to Microsoft’s Program Guidelines for detailed eligibility criteria.

How to Get Microsoft Donations
The first step is to register with TechSoup Canada, which is free and only takes a few minutes.Registering will also give you access to discounts and donations from up to 26 other donor partners, which include office productivity suites, graphic design software, accounting packages, and security programs.

How Does the Microsoft Program Work?
The program uses an allotment cycle, which re-sets every two years, starting from your first donation request. In each two-year cycle you can:

Request licenses from up to 10 of over 70 available Microsoft title groups.

Request up to 50 licenses per Microsoft title group.

Request up to 5 server products, regardless of server title group.

Please refer to the Microsoft Donations Program FAQs for detailed information. TechSoup Canada would be happy to answer any of your questions.
